Hockinson Middle School is a 75,000 SF replacement school situated on an existing campus in Brush Prairie, Washington. Rather than a complete demolition, the original school underwent partial demolition to accommodate the construction of a new track and entry road, while still remaining in use.
The newly constructed school stands tall with two stories and features a striking large glass curtain wall facing south, ensuring ample natural light floods the interior. Construction materials include metal paneling, brick, CMU (Concrete Masonry Unit), glazing, and wood soffits, combining functionality with aesthetic appeal.
The project also involved offsite road improvements to enhance access, installation of a Distributed Antenna System (DAS) for improved wireless communication, and track improvements to support athletic activities. Furthermore, classrooms were equipped with TVs to enhance the learning environment.
