Safety and Risk Management

At Robinson Construction Co., the safety and well-being of our team, subcontractors, clients, and all involved in our projects are paramount. We surpass legal requirements for jobsite safety through our comprehensive Health and Safety Plan, procedures, training, and safety incentive program. Fostering a culture of safety not only protects our employees but also enhances the overall success of our projects.

Employee Safety and Training

All employees undergo quarterly safety training, including yearly CPR and First Aid training. New employees receive a thorough safety orientation before their first job assignment. At the commencement of each new project, Robinson conducts safety orientations for all of our onsite employees. These sessions provide a comprehensive overview of safety protocols specific to the project. Project Superintendents/Foremen conduct weekly “toolbox” safety meetings to discuss procedures, suggestions, accidents, and educational material every Wednesday.

Subcontractor Safety and Training

Before entering the jobsite, subcontractors provide health and safety plans and attend a job safety orientation meeting. Similar to employees, subcontractors participate in weekly “toolbox” safety meetings. Key expectations include ensuring safe conditions, prompt hazard reporting, active participation in safety meetings, timely documentation submission, and specific safety hazards that pertain to the current job site.

General Jobsite Safety and Communication

Our Code of Safe Practices serves as a guiding document for all team members, emphasizing our commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace. Adherence to standards is crucial, involving strict compliance with laws, regulations, and accident prevention programs. Collective responsibility is shared by subcontractors and employees, contributing to a culture of safety on our job sites. Effective communication is vital, facilitated through regular toolbox talks, weekly safety meetings, clear documentation, and prompt reporting of hazardous conditions by subcontractors.
