Aumsville Elementary School

Aumsville Elementary School is a new 50,000 SF school that was completed in the summer of 2007 along with Turner Elementary School Remodel and the Cascade High School Remodel.  Unique challenges included construction in an occupied space with a focus on safety, site logistics and the variation of terrain when transporting materials.

Cascade High School Remodel
Turner, OR

Cascade School District, in mutual partnership with the local community, passed a bond measure for a construction program consisting of a High School and two Elementary Schools.  Together, Cascade Secondary School, Turner Elementary School, and Aumsville Elementary School equal over 124,000 sq. ft. of new construction and addition projects such as classrooms, gymnasiums, and 500-seat auditorium.

Evergreen High School Remodel Vancouver, WA

The remodeled portion of Evergreen High School totaled over 220,000 SF with 54,000 SF of new construction included in the addition project.  Features range from a reconstructed Gymnasium to new skylights, widened hallways and common areas, and a layout which consists of four distinct learning academies which included construction in occupied space.

Tom McCall Elementary School

Tom McCall Elementary School is a 66,000 SF wood-framed facility consisting of classrooms, administrative offices and new gym/athletics facilities.  The new school is located on 25 Acres and shares a site with Elton Gregory Middle School, also constructed by Robinson Construction Co. for the Redmond School District.  Both schools were completed in Summer of 2006.

Elton Gregory Middle School shares the same site with Tom McCall Elementary School, both of which are located in Redmond, OR.  The Deschutes Edge Charter School is also located within Elton Gregory Middle School.  At 125,000 SF in size, this 2-story steel and block structure houses the boiler room which also serves Tom McCall Elementary School with multiple hot/cold lines running underneath the playing fields.

Alberta Rider Elementary School Tualatin, OR

CM/GC services for a new 67,800 SF single story school with 1/2 daylight basement, constructed of structural steel and CMU block.  Challenges include a sloping site which was addressed and compensated for by utilizing the technical expertise of Robinson’s site work crew, resulting in savings without compromising overall quality.  This school was completed on schedule in 2005 and serves approximately 500 students.

Madras Head Start
Madras, OR

Head Start is a program of the United States Department of Health and Human Services that assists children from lower-income families.  Divided into two wings, the new 13,000 SF facility including Director’s office, conference room, kitchen, health room, offices, and classrooms.  The lobby and reception include a high-end secured entry system.  Additional feautures include unstructured play area, vegetable garden, water sport/activity area, bike paths, covered areas, and playgrounds.

Corvallis High School
Corvallis, OR

The new 230,000 SF Corvallis High School was constructed to replace the original high school from 1935 which was deemed susceptible to Earthquake damage in 2002.  The new Corvallis High School was built on an existing site and opened in September of 2004 to 1,380 students and includes a LEED Silver rating. Energy efficient measures include increased roof insulation, high performance windows, daylighting control in all classrooms, recycled construction waste, and more than 50% of building materials recycled.

Tigard High School
Tigard, OR

The Tigard High School remodel project included the replacement and/or renovation of classrooms, music rooms, science rooms, athletic meeting and locker rooms, library, meeting rooms and other related spaces.  75,000 SF of the facility was renovated to include the necessary upgrades.

Thomas Jefferson Middle School Vancouver, WA

This new 130,000 SF middle school is a two-story structural steel, CMU building with grand staircases, gym with stage, administration offices, and all the necessary classrooms and support spaces.  The exterior has arched windows with intricate brick veneer and over 20 skylights throughout.  Three radius balconies with precast railings and balusters were built to resemble the Thomas Jefferson homestead.

Columbia Valley Elementary School - Vancouver, WA

This elementary school project consists of 61,650 SF of concrete slab on grades and slab on decks, exterior of structural steel framing, post and beam wood framing, concrete masonry units.  Roof structure is all wood framed with sheet metal roofing and membrane roofing, two-story classrooms and single story administration, along with clearstory gym, commons area, kitchen, and performing arts stage.

LaPine High School Remodel
LaPine, OR

LaPine High School consisted of a new auxiliary gymnasium constructed of block, steel trusses and metal deck, complete with wood sports floor and bleachers.  Also constructed were three new classrooms and the remodel of several existing rooms.  Addition equaled 10,000 SF and Remodel consisted of 5,000 SF.

Bend High School Remodel
Bend, OR

The Bend High School Remodel and Addition project consisted of construction of a new commons and front entry, new administration offices, remodel of kitchen serving areas, band, choir, drama and multiple classrooms and restrooms.  Remodel equaled 10,000 SF and the Addition was 12,000 SF.  The addition was constructed of steel, trusses, metal deck and metal siding.

Beaverton High School Cafe
BEaverton, OR

The Café building at Beaverton High School is a 2-story, 30,000 SF facility with a full service kitchen and interior and outside dining on the first floor. The Café’s second floor consists of a large conference room that can be subdivided with the aid of a movable wall, teachers lounge, additional support space and a sky bridge to the existing building. This facility provides a learning environment for educating students on recycling benefits/ techniques as well as energy conservation and obtained LEED Silver Certification for environmental practices.

Lake Oswego High School
Lake Oswego, OR

Multi-phase addition and renovation work was included in the Lake Oswego High School project as a new school was constructed to replace the existing structure.  At a total of 240,000 SF, the high school includes new classrooms, library, commons area, cafeteria, kitchen, theater, athletic facilities, offices and support spaces. The school's athletic facilities include the main gym plus renovated auxiliary gym, 2,200 SF weights training space, 1,500 SF of aerobics space, locker rooms and associated offices.

Metzger Elementary School
Tigard, OR

This new elementary school project consists of 70,000 SF incorporating steel framing, steel studs, and brick veneer on a two story building hosting classrooms, administrative offices and commons with a high ceiling and a single story portion for the gym.  Completed on an active campus and constructed in 12 phases. Following completion of the new school, demolition of the existing facility took place as the last phase.

Hazel Dell Elementary School
Vancouver, WA

Hazel Dell Elementary School is a 55,000 SF structure that was constructed in an occupied area while the original school was in session.  The 2-story building was constructed of structural steel and masonry with a veneer brick exterior facade providing space for classrooms, gymnasium, commons area/kitchen, media center, administrative offices, and outdoor athletics areas.  This school was completed in August of 2003.

Liberty High School - Hillsboro, OR

This high-end high school consists of 290,000 SF including indoor gym, vast learning library, sports field, and the latest design concepts, teaching aids, materials, and equipment of any school in the area.  Breathtaking views of sky and hills can be viewed by staff and students through various floor to ceiling windows. Designed to accomodate 1,400 students, structural elements consist of steel and concrete with an extensive brick veneer façade.

Astor Elementary School Renovation
Astoria, OR

Built in the 1920’s and listed on the historical registry, every effort was put forth to preserve the school’s status.  Completed in 2002, the Astor Elementary School project consisted of renovation, remodel and addition of new components including structural–to meet the new seismic requirements; lighting–to boost energy conservation credits; fire alarm and sprinklers; complete library remodel; refinished hardwood floors, installed elevator, and refinishing of all exterior surfaces.

Sunset High School
Beaverton, OR

Renovation and addition work provided for 18,000 SF of new classrooms, 6,000 sq. ft. of administrative offices, and enclosing the existing 8,000 sq. ft. commons area.  A variety of interior finishes were replaced and additions included masonry, steel and brick construction.  In addition to the architectural work, the existing HVAC, fire protection, and the electrical systems were expanded and repaired and a bus loading zone was added.

Fir Ridge AIM High School

This new 35,000 SF alternative high school was built of CMU,  structural steel and wood framing with brick veneer and metal siding exterior.  A large area of mature fir trees was preserved and developed into a natural park, plus a glass façade and bright skylights also add to green building practices.  There are two wings of classrooms, welcoming central hall, front hallway lined with faculty offices, high-end computer lab, gymnasium, and fully equipped kitchen.

Oregon City High School Addition
Oregon City, OR

This major renovation and addition project consisted of over 324,000 SF of facilities and more than doubled the existing building.  The new additions were constructed of structural steel and masonry and provide space for new classrooms, commons area, and a 550 seat auditorium.  The athletic facilities consisted of a main gym to accommodate 2,000 spectators, complete renovation of the existing auxiliary gym and 3,000 SF wrestling room.  Associated offices, activity rooms and storage were also added.

Originally constructed in 1957, the Astoria High School was completely renovated in 2003.  In addition to refinishing of exterior surfaces, a world class Science Center was added to the complex.  780 students attend AHS in grades 9-12.

Lewis and Clark Elementary School
Astoria, OR

Lewis and Clark Elementary School replaced the existing elementary school as a new 45,000 SF facility consisting of classrooms, commons area, and administrative offices.  The key to the success of this project was the sequence of the demolition of the original building, the major site work effort and the aggressive schedule for the new building (2.5 months).  The school was completed in August of 2002.

Hillsboro High School

This major renovation and addition work was completed in 12 phases and consisted of a 60,000 SF addition and 18,000 SF remodel.  In addition to this work, all HVAC, fire protection, controls and the electrical systems were expanded and updated.  Additional site work and parking lot expansion was required in support of this major bond program.
