Superintendent

The superintendent reports to the project manager. Responsible for safety, schedule, subcontractor coordination, quality, subcontractor scope, daily paperwork, and punch list.

Responsibilities and Duties

    • Maintain professional relationships with owners, design teams, subcontractors, vendors, and local jurisdiction.
    • Ensure company procedures and standards are maintained.
    • Maintain thorough understanding of contract documents and subcontracts.

    • Ensure that if a change to the contract document occurs without a formal change directive from the owner or design team, then an RFI is to be submitted and approved prior to starting work.
    • Ensure subcontractor compliance of their contract execution, performance and payment bonds, insurance, subcontractor health and safety plan and orientation requirements.
    • Ensure the health and safety plan and the site-specific health and safety plan (when required) is correctly followed and documented by all personnel on the jobsite.
    • Ensure all receipts are processed in Concur. Use of your Visa Card is encouraged.  If the vendor is to come onsite, ensure insurance is collected and sent to the office.  Note that insurance has been collected in your Concur report.
    • Project contact information is to be maintained in Procore’s directory. Project team to send updates to project manager assistant for uploading to Procore directory.
    • Project manager and superintendent are to respond to invoice comments by both email and by invoice.
    • Inform senior management of the projects progress relating to schedule, conflicts, delays, and budget.
    • Ensure the following items are up to date on all safety requirements, including but not limited to:
      • All Robinson and state-specific wall postings.
      • All subcontractor health and safety plans are printed and onsite.
      • Safety notebook is up to date.
      • SDS book is up to date.
      • Site-specific health requirements and documents are being maintained.
      • Robinson employee training.
      • Robinson fall protection.

Qualifications

  • Great written and oral communications skills.
  • Minimum 10 years of building construction experience.
  • Strong management and leadership skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret contract documents.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Microsoft Project).
